Don’t laugh. OK, you can laugh. This is a true story. Alcohol may have played a part in my decision making.
My friend Scott and I were sitting on the beach in Sayulita, Mexico, watching the beautiful women walk by in their really hot (small) bathing suits.
Our lovely wives were also sitting on the beach watching the women walk by in their barely there, fall off in the water, sure to ride up your butt crack the moment you tried to catch a wave, bathing suits.
Scott and I were wondering, “why don’t our wives wear bathing suits like some of these other women on the beach?” Obviously, we had never worn a suit that was designed by someone that didn’t actually expect the suit to stay on very long.
Scott and I came up with a genius idea. As a gift to ourselves, we would buy the bathing suit we wished our wives would wear. We weren’t dumb enough to think they were buying a gift for them.
Well, Scott has not purchased a suit for Julie yet, but I bought one for Amy.
I knew that if my evil/genius plan was to succeed I would have to find the perfect suit. Amy is athletic and really into surfing. She and her friends have been doing their own “girl’s surf camp” for 5 years now. The first year they were in Mexico for about 10 days and surfed 2. This last trip they were here for 10 days and surfed 8. That’s hard core. I figured if I could find a suit that was perfect for surfing, fit well and was sexy, I might not get in too much trouble.
I happened to be reading an article on women SUP racers and the suits the best racers were wearing. Jolyn Swimwear, (www.jolynclothing.com) was the company that made the suits. They make them in California out of material imported from Italy. The suits were designed by a male lifeguard for female water polo players using the highest quality materials. Sounded like it could be perfect.
I went online and showed them to Amy. She said she would never wear one of those.
So, I ordered one.
Check out their website and let me know what you think. You can write in the comments below. I would love to hear some speculation on how this is all going to work out.
Here is the whole gang going to the beach:
